About EdPrax

EdPrax (Education Praxis) is a Community-of-Practice platform for Australian educators, broadly defined. Classroom teachers, support staff, university tutors, TAFE teachers, homeschoolers, community educators — anyone doing the work of education.

What makes it different

Existing networks compete on volume of content (TES, Teachers Pay Teachers) or algorithmic engagement (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook groups). EdPrax competes on something else: contextual infrastructure.

• A knowledge graph anchored in curriculum standards and practice areas — not free-floating hashtags.
• Expertise-weighted ranking (PageRank-derived). Endorsements count for as much as the endorser is already recognised in that topic. Vote-farming and expert spam don't work here by design.
• Contextual surfacing driven by what you declare you care about, not by what an algorithm thinks will hold your attention.

What it's not

• Not a content marketplace.
• Not a place to talk about specific students. This is a student-free zone.
• Not optimised for engagement. Optimised for time well spent so you can return to your work.

Open principles

• Australian-hosted (Supabase Sydney region).
• Independent — not tied to any school, sector, or vendor.
• Free to join — core membership is always free. (Community organisers can optionally pay for Pro features.)
• Content is yours. CC BY-SA 4.0 by default, configurable per post.
